The Puppy Brush that you buy is another important factor in the well being of your lab Puppy.

It is important to start your puppy grooming as soon as possible, your puppy needs to get use to be handled and this is a great way to bond with it.

Always keep the grooming sessions short to start with and reward him or her with a treat or a game with a toy when he has co-operated for a couple of minutes.

Once your Labrador puppy gets used to this, you can then work at building up the time you spend grooming him or her.

If you build your puppy grooming into your daily routine this will make your life so much easier. You will find that your lab puppy will get used to grooming very quickly and as your Labrador gets older you will not get the same problems as other owners who’s puppies run away when they see the puppy brush coming out.

So which Puppy brush should you buy?

There are 3 products that I used

KONG Zoom Groom Brush – This Puppy Brush is great it takes all loose hair off a dog’s coat, and also massages the skin and removes dirt and it is also very easy to keep clean.

The bristles work like magnets to draw the loose hairs to them.

This puppy brush has soft 3/4 inch bristles which gently massage the skin, promoting good blood flow to the surface of the skin, and encouraging good Sebum production to protect the coat.

Plus because it has flexible bristles rather than conventional pins it won’t scratch your dog, and its more effective.

Kong Zoom Groom Brush

After you have used the Kong Zoom Groom Brush you will need to use a puppy grooming comb. Be very gentle when using the comb, this is used on the tail and the legs where the puppy hair is very fine.

The Third and final piece of your  puppy grooming is a soft bristle brush with a  handle.

Soft Dog Bristle Brush

This soft bristle brush will distribute the natural oils in your puppies coat. This was Loretta’s favorite part of her grooming routine, it don’t know whether it was the brush or it was the fact that she knew grooming time was over and it would soon be time for a treat. You will find that Labrador Puppies are very greedy and if they know a food treat is on it’s way they are very quick to learn. If you have any comments I would love to hear from you.
