hhmm.. do you take her on walks everyday/?
reaason i ask is because she would usually see dogs and you would be able to see how they interact. one thing to do is ask someone with a dog to see your dog. make sure your dog is muzzled to be safe. and see how he is. but im not sure about bringing another dog in so late but you could research it on google.

Yes, I have a dachshund and a rottweiler. When we first got the dachshund we was very mean and would get bored so we got a rottweiler for him to play with. Well the rottweiler, even though bigger always saw the dachshund as the dominant dog and the dachshund was very mean to the rottweiler. It took a lot of training on my part but I finally got the dachshund to play nice with the rottweiler and now their like peas in a pod.

My experience is that if you give a lot of praise when showing the puppy to your dog then everything should be fine. There might be some jealousy issues too. After a while your dog will relax and except the puppy. Just give it some time. Don’t expect your dog to like the puppy right away. Make sure you give them both lots of love and everything should be fine. Good luck.

if such is your dog’s behavior, there’s a huge chance that he will be aggressive. I suggest you resolve your chi’s aggressive behavior first before you think of getting a new pup.

Here’s a link on how to introduce a 2nd dog to your dog:

If your dog is already aggressive, this isn’t the best idea. Some dog friendly dogs get aggressive when you bring another dog into their domain. If your dog is already aggressive this could make him aggressive on another level. Maybe you could make it work by keeping them seperate, but trust me, someone will be miserable. I had gotten a puppy when my room mate had a dog. We had to keep them separate at all time and it was the longest, most frustration month of my life! Not to mention at least one of the dogs at all times i am sure felt left out.

There is away around it as i have had the same problem, my advice if you do get a puppy as soon as you bring him/her home keep them Completely separated maybe keep one part of the house for the puppy and put something in between thats see through like fencing you can get special fencing for dogs from a pet shop. Once that is set up let ur dog in so she can go up to the fencing or border and sniff and get used to the puppy this my take a couple of days. Once you think she is comfortable introduce the puppy to her slowly even if it means for a week or more to give her time and space to get used to the puppy it worked for me. But in your case if it dosnt work maybe go to a dog specialist or local vet to get some other ideas or advice Hope this helps =) Good luck
