Dog training commands
Dog training commands – the basic dog commands you will need
When you first get your Lab puppy, dog training commands can be confusing so I thought I would make a list and have a brief explanation of each command. I would like to thank Sandy and her puppy Jasper for making this suggestion. Sandy signed up for my free email course and thought that the basic dog training commands would be a good addition for new Labrador puppy owners.

So let’s get started with our Dog Training Commands.
1 “Come” As soon as you puppy comes into the house start using the Come command this should be used (puppy name) come. When the puppy obeys give him a lot of fuse and praise.

2 “Busy” When you take your puppy outside to relive himself use busy or any other work you think appropriate so your puppy associates this word with going to the toilet, he will learn very quickly that he has not gone outside to play.

3 “Off” This will be a dog command that you will use a lot. You should use this word when your puppy jumps up at you, on furniture Etc. Many new puppy owners make the mistake of using the “down” dog training command. This means something completely different; I will explain this further down the list.
4 “Gently “this is also an important dog command. This is used in puppy training biting.

5. “Sit” if you want your puppy to sit this is the dog command word that you need to use. How to Teach Dog Sit
6 “Down” not to be confused with “off”. This word is used to get your puppy to lie down. Teach dog to down
7 “Settle” This dog command is one that I used a lot with Loretta. You don’t always want to put your puppy in its Lab Puppy Crate but you do want it to settle down and be quite for a little while. Using the settle command works a treat and your puppy will enjoy being allowed to spend time with the family.
8 “Good”: If you like something that your dog has done then compliment him using this command.
9 “No”: On the other hand, if you disapprove of something that the dog has done, you can use this dog training command to let it know about your dislike.
10 “Quiet”: How many times has your dog wrecked your nerves by barking loudly all day long? This simple command will work like a stopper on his mouth.
These are my top 10 dog training commands. There are more Dog commands that you will need as your lab puppy gets older, but concentrate on these first get use to them and then I will be introducing some more dog training commands.
Good luck
