Your Lab Puppy Pictures Bailey
Lab puppy training would like to welcome Bailey
The first 2 pictures of Bailey are when we brought her home at 6 weeks old and the third one is from last week at 4 months old.

Bailey’s father, a Black Labrador, and mother, a Chocolate Labrador, are from Bell Buckle, TN. Her father is Nationally Ranked in Field Competition Time Trials.
One of her brothers from the same litter was purchased by Country Music Star, Lee Ann Womack.
Bailey has been house trained since she was about 12 weeks old and has not had a problem in different settings. This is a direct result of Kennel Training from Day 1.
Bailey is the first puppy my wife and I have Kennel Trained and we will not do it any other way in the future. At four months old she absolutely loves her crate or “den”. She sleeps in it at night and stays in it during the day while we are at work.
We do have a fenced in back yard, but are still a little hesitant to leave her in the back yard by herself while we are gone for 10 hours a day.
It may seem like she is kept in her kennel too long, but we make sure we let her out in at least four hour increments. For example, we let her out for a break in the middle of the night and our neighbor lets her out in the middle of the day while we are gone.
I know you may be wondering why I am explaining this in depth, but if I could give some advice for new puppy owners using Kennel training it would be to make sure your puppy does not stay in the Kennel too long at one time. Leaving them in their kennel too long can cause serious UTI and Bacterial Infections.
My rule of thumb is a puppy can hold its bathroom an hour for every month old they are.
Bailey is currently in the puppy biting stage, which our hands and feet can attest to. If you do not show her constant attention she will make sure she gets it by biting you. The only way we can decrease the biting right now is to give her the muzzle followed with “No Bite” and then quickly give her a chew toy. If you have any better ideas to break her of biting it would help.

I would Like to thank Blake, Bailey’s owner for sending in these pictures and telling us about him.

One of simplest ways to stop your puppy biting is to bellow “ow” in a deep gruff voice.(It took me a bit of time to get use to this I wasn't very good at bellowing in a deep gruff voice) This will surprise him and in most cases he will release his grip.
As soon as he lets go offer him a toy, he will learn that he is allowed to bite his toys.
Let him chew the toy for a few minutes, then take it from him using the command “give”
Another tool that you can use is a tin filled with pebbles, the aim of this is to make a loud sudden noise, the result will be he will stop what he's doing ,and then you can praise him for stopping what he was doing.
You must remember not to get angry with your puppy. You may feel concerned that your puppies biting is a sign of a poor temperament. Your puppies behaviour is instinctive and it will be your job to teach your puppy that biting is not acceptable if he wants to be part of your pack.
I hope this helps and thank you again for the pictures and your story.
